Founded by IIM IIT alumnus with previous startup experience, Connectabank is here to alter the customer experience and expectations of buying any and all financial products. It aims to give customers real choice with live quotes and end to end fulfillment rather than run just a lead generation engine showcasing themselves as a comparison website.
So what else ?
The startup universe is flooded with multiple lead generation engines which operate to sell leads to financial product sellers. Connectabank does not not sell leads. We aim to fill the gap for a true blue distributor which can straddle the diverse worlds of customer discovery, true product aggregation, product neutral customer service and after sales service with equal ease.
The process of customer discovery is both online and offline for us. We aim to use our proprietary web based and handheld based apps to target the offline lead generation market. Instead of selling leads, we try to give the customer a superior end to end experience through our own sales force or through channel partners and thereby own the customer.
How do we change the future of distribution ?
As branch banking shrinks and is replaced with a plethora of online modes of reaching the customer directly (D2C), the importance of face to face (F2F) hasn't decreased. Which is why the share of independent third party workforce of DSAs and agents has not decreased. It is our belief that F2F will remain an important and ubiquitous mode of selling, particularly in the a disorganized and diverse market that is India.
With this in mind, we aim to empower the third party distributors with access to our distributor marketplace. So far, our tools and targeting methods have given the "CAB marketplace distributor" a definitive over the run of the mill distributor. It is our belief that our marketplace will cut down the high churn in the last mile standalone distributors in India and make it a channel which has long term commitment towards the end customer.
Investors
Led by Mr. Vimal Kumar Somani, Rockdude Group has invested in us when our idea was just a vision in 2012. He has been unflinching in his support even as we tweaked our business models around and experimented.
An enterprising entrepreneur, Mr. Vimal Kumar Somani, is an alumnus of Sri Ram College of Commerce Delhi University. A Chartered Accountant by qualification, his journey started as the youngest General Manager and Project Head at Hindalco. Previously, having been associated with Aditya Birla Group, Vedanta, and Global Steel Group, all in top management positions, gave him the international edge that his contemporaries lacked. A leader and whiz at having handled Project Implementations, Finance and Commercial gave him a holistic view of managing business. A traveler by heart, work provided ample opportunity for Mr. Somani. He has been able to get technologies, attract foreign leading steel company into Indian growing company. His versatile knowledge of industry, finance, global business has made him a strong project developer and value creator. His support has been an asset to Connectabank.
A couple of Companies funded by him have gone on to become global businesses.
